MS SEAVENTURE

The SEAVENTURE was specially designed for these extraordinary moments. Thanks to its special construction, the small ship is extremely maneuverable and can change course spontaneously for intensive observations of animals or nature.

It also has the highest ice class for passenger ships. A higher steel plate density in the hull and a massive stem are just some of the many parameters that allow the powerful expedition ship to glide safely through glittering ice regions.

Even remote harbors, winding rivers and untapped coasts can be easily reached and traversed due to the low draught. So you can also drop anchor in areas that remain hidden to others. And if there is no harbor in sight, a fleet of fourteen robust Zodiacs is at your disposal.

The 4-stroke motor dinghies enable you to experience breathtaking natural wonders up close and to explore uncharted territories.

Nature is our Home

Sustainability

  • SEAVENTURE produces clean water using seawater desalination plants. Wastewater is treated in biological treatment plants. In addition, our ballast water management avoids the transfer of flora and fauna to other areas.
  • Waste on board is separated in an environmentally friendly manner in accordance with international regulations and disposed of or recycled professionally in the respective country.
  • We avoid the unnecessary use of plastic and do not use plastic bags, straws, cocktail sticks among other things. We also use energy-saving lamps and LED lights to optimize fuel consumption.
  • All of our documents and advertising material are printed on environmentally friendly paper.

Responsibility

  • Strict requirements must be met for expeditions. This is why we plan every Arctic expedition with the very highest degree of care and submit the route and program to the Federal Environment Agency for its approval.
  • In order to shorten transport distances and support the economy of our destinations, we buy food and beverages locally where possible.
  • On our expeditions, we ask our guests to act responsibly and inform them on special arrangements in advance or in on-board presentations

Environmental technolology

  • On board the SEAVENTURE, a number of measures have been taken to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This also includes the planning of our routes, which we always work out carefully and with the utmost consideration for each expedition. In particularly sensitive ecosystems, we pay particular attention to operating with reduced power and completely dispense with the use of heavy fuel oil. The engine will operate with 100% low-emission marine gas oil with a maximum sulfur content of 0.1%.
  • We make sure that the ship is regularly serviced at short intervals and modernized in an environmentally friendly manner. As such, we refrain from using products that might harm flora and fauna. For example, the ship’s underwater coating is TBT-free.
